2011 European Heritage Congress in Amsterdam

The Europa Nostra European Heritage Congress takes place on June 8-11 in the World Heritage City of Amsterdam, bringing together Europa Nostra members and representatives of the entire cultural heritage movement from all over Europe.

Again, the highlight will be the European Heritage Awards Ceremony celebrating the winners of the 2011 European Union Prize for Cultural Heritage / Europa Nostra Awards.

EN’s President, Plácido Domingo and the European Commissioner responsible for Education, Culture, Multilingualism and Youth, Androulla Vassiliou will co-host the event.

During the Annual Congress the General Assembly, Council and Board meetings will take place to push forward Europa Nostra’s goals as the Voice of cultural heritage in Europe. The forum will be dedicated to the added value of volunteers in the field of cultural heritage, as a contribution to The European Year of Volunteering 2011.

The European Heritage Awards Ceremony will take place at Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw on 10 June 2011. All venues of the congress are important historical and heritage landmarks.

Special heritage visits in the newly appointed World Heritage Site Amsterdam’s Ring of Canals and its surroundings have been arranged
