4th meeting of the EYCH 2018 Stakeholders Committee and National Coordinators

Europa Nostra participated in the 4th meeting of the Stakeholders Committee and the National Coordinators for the European Year of Cultural Heritage (EYCH) 2018, which was organised by the European Commission in Brussels on 7 March.

While the first session was open to cultural and cultural heritage stakeholders only, an exchange with the National Coordinators of the European Year took place in the afternoon. Here, Europa Nostra’s Secretary General Sneška Quaedvlieg-Mihailović presented the video call for participation in the #Ode2Joy challenge, a new participatory initiative developed by Europa Nostra as a contribution to the European Year of Cultural Heritage. She also gave an update about the preparations for the European Cultural Heritage Summit 2018, which is co-organised by Europa Nostra, the German Cultural Heritage Committee (DNK) and the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation (SPK).

Several other stakeholders presented their initiatives for the European Year, such as the video for the “Work it out” dance event on 1 May (International Labour Day) organised by the European Route of Industrial Heritage to the Year (also a member of the European Heritage Alliance 3.3).

The stakeholders will meet again on 5-6 June in Brussels and on 8-9 November in Leipzig (in conjunction with the Leipzig denkmal fair).
