European Heritage Alliance 3.3 welcomes 2 new members

At its first meeting during the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018 that took place on 8 March 2018 in Brussels, the European Heritage Alliance 3.3 greeted two new European networks among its members: NECSTouR and EFFORTS. Hence, the Alliance counts 48 member networks active in the wider field of cultural heritage.

The Network of European Regions for a Sustainable and Competitive Tourism (NECSTouR) is supporting the initiative of several other Alliance members (ETC, ECTN and Europa Nostra) of an Award on “Cultural Heritage as Asset for Responsible and Sustainable Tourism”. Together with the European Travel Commission and the European Cultural Tourism Network, NECSTouR is one of the Alliance members focusing on the links between promoting sustainable tourism and the promotion and protection of cultural heritage.

The European network for fortified cities, forts and lines of defence (EFFORTS) is a newly founded network based in Brussels, seeking to support the set-up of international partnerships between cities and sites, experts, policy makers, enterprises and practitioners and join members in the development of fortification heritage.
