15th Annual Historic Houses Conference

The 15th Annual Historic Houses Conference will take place from 19- 21 June 2017 in Dublin Castle, Ireland. The theme of the conference is ‘The Country House Revived?’ focussing on the survival and revival of historic houses in Ireland, the UK and Europe in the course of the last fifty years. It will also include the launch of a photographic exhibition chronicling the recent past of a variety of houses across Ireland, the UK, and Europe.

Europa Nostra Secretary General Sneška Quaedvlieg-Mihailović will be one of the keynote speakers on day one, addressing the audience on “Joining forces ahead of the European Year of Cultural Heritage in 2018”. Two other members of the European Heritage Alliance 3.3 will be among the speakers on day two: European Historic Houses Association and European Cultural Tourism Network.

The conference is organised by the Centre for the Study of Historic Irish Houses and Estates (CSHIHE), Maynooth University, with the Office of Public Works. It is also organised in association with – among others – Europa Nostra.
