EU Green Week conference “Towards a water resilient Europe”

The EU Green Week conference “Towards a water resilient Europe” will take place from 29 May at 13:45 (CEST) to 30 May 2024, in the Charlemagne building of the European Commission, in Brussels.

The conference will be divided into different panels throughout these two days, covering themes linked to this year’s topic: “Towards a water resilient Europe.” Guest speakers will mainly discuss how to foster a water smart economy within the EU and an international water cooperation, and will address the challenges of restoring and safeguarding the disrupted water cycle, ensuring widespread access to clean and affordable water.

Participants will also have the opportunity to attend two award ceremonies.

The Natura 2000 Award ceremony will take place on 29 May, at 18:30 (CEST), with the presence of Maroš Šefčovič, Executive Vice-President of the European Commission, and Florika Fink-Hooijer, Director General of DG Environment. Six winners will be announced, one for each of the five categories – Conservation on land, Marine conservation, Communication, Working together for nature, and Cross-border cooperation – and the winner of the European Citizens’ Award.

On 30 May, the most successful projects implemented under the LIFE programme will be rewarded during the LIFE Awards ceremony, at 17:30 (CEST).

Registration for the event is compulsory, and available on the European Union website.
