European Cultural Heritage Summit 2024

The European Cultural Heritage Summit 2024 will take place in Bucharest, Romania, from 6 to 8 October. An important annual rendez-vous for the heritage world, the Summit will provide a unique opportunity to reflect on the political, economic, environmental, and societal importance of cultural heritage for Europe and the future of the European project.

This year’s Summit is organised by Europa Nostra, in the frame of our network project European Cultural Heritage Agora co-funded by the European Union, in close cooperation with the Romanian Order of Architects, Monumentum Association, ARA – Architecture. Restoration. Archeology, ARCHÉ Association, Pro Patrimonio, and other cultural heritage organisations and partners, public and private, in Romania.

The European Heritage Awards Ceremony in honour of the 2024 winners of the European Heritage Awards / Europa Nostra Awards, one of the Summit highlights, will be held on the evening of 7 October at the Romanian Athenaeum, the most prestigious concert hall in Bucharest, in the presence of Iliana Ivanova, European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth. The European Heritage Excellence Day, featuring presentations by the 2024 winners, will take place on 6 October.

The European Heritage Hub Forum on Cultural Heritage and Digital Transformation, organised by Europeana in partnership with the European Heritage Hub Consortium, will take place on 7 October.

The Europa Nostra Council and General Assembly will meet on the morning of 8 October, while the European Heritage Policy Agora and the Europa Nostra Lecture will be held in the afternoon of 8 October.
