Summer University Cultural Property Protection 2018

Summer University Cultural Property Protection 2018:
Structures, Skills and Procedures for the Rescue of our Common Cultural Heritage

Disasters and catastrophes pose risks not only to the conservation of cultural heritage with its cultural, historic and artistic values, but also to the safety of visitors, staff and local communities. The EU Interreg Central Europe Project ProteCHt2save focuses on the development of feasible and tailored solutions for building resilience of cultural heritage to floods and heavy rains. This one week international Summer University is part of ProteCHt2save and allows students and experts to develop together the ideal model of a Cultural Heritage Rescue Team (CHRT) to be implemented in every country wishing to do so. Different working groups will deal with the structure and organisation of CHRTs as well as the skills and knowledge of the operators. In addition, short training sequences will focus on emergency evacuation and working in a crisis action staff.
